Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations, federally recognized tribes, and/or public bodies like government institutions. Farmers can apply in partnership with one of the entities mentioned above.
This grant is a federal program from the USDA’s Rural Development program, so farmers in rural and tribal areas in Oregon are currently eligible to apply year-round. This grant is not for urban farmers.
Rural areas including cities, villages, townships and towns including federally recognized tribal lands with no more than 20,000 residents according to the latest U.S. Census Data are eligible for this program.
Region: Rural and tribal areas statewide in Oregon
Notes: Funds can be used to purchase, construct, and / or improve essential community facilities, purchase equipment and pay related project expenses. Examples of essential community facilities include:
Local food systems such as community gardens, food pantries, community kitchens, food banks, food hubs or greenhouses.
