Eligibility: Farmers must have an FSA account in order to apply.

In order to be eligible, farms must have gotten their food safety certification in the same calendar year they’re applying. So you must have your certification in 2025 if you’re applying this year. You can also use these funds if you’ve renewed your certification this year. Any expenses that happened in order to get the food safety certification can be reimbursed through this funding opportunity. All small and medium size farmers are eligible to apply in Oregon!

The USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is hosting a grant program for small and medium size farms to get their costs covered for food safety certification. For 2025, the applications are open until January 31, 2026.
