Eligibility: Since this is a USDA grant, farmers must have an account set up with the USDA to apply in their portal as well as manage funds.

Region: This is a national program but farmers in Oregon are eligible.

This funding opportunity hosts both grants as well as loans. Grants are available up to $250,000. It just depends on the type of project you’re looking to develop and conduct and there is a funding opportunity within this program to help make it happen. The goal for this program is for a community’s food security to develop through some sort of retail, marketing, aggregating, and distribution network expansion for local food. Nonprofits, individual farm businesses, and other types of corporations can apply in order to research and develop a plan to create more food access.
