Funding Deadline: Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
Climate Resilience
Capital Assistance for Local Farmers
Website
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is NRCS’ flagship conservation program that helps farmers, ranchers and forest landowners integrate conservation into working lands. They help farmers with technical and financial assistance to incorporate conservation practices onto their farms. Practices including improved water and air quality, conserved ground and surface water, increased soil health, fighting off wildlife encroachment, and more. The solutions to a lot of these practices that EQIP would help with are through natural and resource conservation practices like planting native plants, incorporating cover crop, and more.
You can look on the EQIP website for Oregon to see all the different types of programming they offer: https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/programs-initiatives/eqip-environmental-quality-incentives/oregon/environmental-quality-incentives
The best way to get started to access EQIP funding is to get connected to your local NRCS office. They will conduct a site visit, make a conservation plan, and then create a contract to get you financial assistance to complete the conservation practices agreed upon.
